This time SELECTED China asked us to replicate the layout and style of still life pages from an LA shoot with star male model Tony Ward using their local designs. We then integrated the pack shot pages into the 24 pages brochure, translating prices and text throughout. It was a tricky technical shoot for Ben as we had to find and light a wall to exactly match the pages from LA, and mix in pack shot images we did at our studio with shots of clothes hung on the walls in real life.

PROJECT: Cover story for 2011 November Issue
ROLE: Production

Conde Nast flew in Max Vadukul and stylist Nicoletta Santoro plus IT Girls Karlie Kloss and Patricia van der Vilet to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Vogue China.

With so much great talent in town Vogue called in BPS to help set up a November issue shoot, including location hunting and on the day a producer and production coordinator, as well as hair assistants plus photo equipment. Hair stylist Didier Malige and make up artist Fulvia Farolfi also came in with this great team from New York.

PROJECT: S/S 2011 Catalog

Bestseller fashion group title, SELECTED, commissioned BPS to produce its spring/summer 2011 catalog, from casting through to brochure layout. At short notice our full production service comprised:

A big hand to male model Tim and female Patsy who managed to look summery and warm in shorts and skirts outside in the middle of Beijing’s subzero winter. Shooting on location at a top hotel in the city centre we got through all the outfits within short daylight hours ahead of a pack shot session at the studio the following day. Then working with our in-house layout designer BPS delivered a fully proofed brochure shortly after Christmas, in time for a January print run.

PROJECT: October Issue
ROLE: Production

Regular clients Conde Nast China asked BPS to take over pre-production for a special shoot with top US photographer, KT Auleta. There was a tight schedule for the editorial Suit Play with model Ming Xi for which we were asked to find a roof top location. We provided:

• Transportation

It was an interesting challenge to find the right roof, which had to have an industrial feel and be low enough to deliver a dramatic cityscape behind. Finally we found a perfect one for KT and the weather smiled on us too.

CLIENT: Sony Pictures China
PROJECT: The Green Hornet Movie Premier
ROLE: TV Broadcast & photo media production

In January Sony Pictures China asked BPS to handle all official media coverage of its China premier for new 3D blockbuster, The Green Hornet.

We developed an on-site workflow allowing immediate release TV footage and print ready photographs for 25 broadcast and 30 print reporters, and documented the red carpet opening with movie stars Seth Rogan, Jay Chou and director Michel Gondrey.

In a production involving three TV cameramen and three on-set photographers BPS took a new step into the movie world. And we’re looking forward to working with Sony Pictures again soon on media for its coming movie, The Tourist.
